Novotel Cardiff Centre

4-star city centre hotel with indoor swimming pool and unique warehouse-style architecture

Architecture & Design

The Novotel Cardiff Centre occupies a converted warehouse, preserving the building's industrial heritage through its exposed brickwork and steel beams. The Customs Shed restaurant and bar sits within this original structure, offering guests a setting that blends history with contemporary comfort. The hotel's design includes a glass footbridge connecting the modern wing to the historic warehouse, a feature that has become a talking point among visitors.

Family & Kids

Children under 16 eat breakfast free of charge when sharing a room with an adult, and the hotel provides gaming consoles set up in the lounge areas for younger guests. A dedicated kids' club and an indoor heated pool with swimming pool toys keep families entertained without leaving the building. On Sundays, the Cardiff Novotel allows late check-out for families, giving extra time to enjoy the facilities before departure.

Dining & Breakfast

Elements Restaurant and Bar serves a diverse breakfast buffet that includes specialty Welsh products such as laverbread and Welsh cakes, alongside an omelette station and fresh pastries. The hotel's breakfast has earned consistent praise from guests, with many highlighting the variety and quality of the hot and cold options. Dinner at The Customs Shed features contemporary dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, and the bar offers a snack menu until late.

Wellness & Pool

The indoor swimming pool is heated and open year-round, with a shallow end and swimming pool toys for children. The health club includes a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, plus a well-equipped fitness centre with locker rooms and a hammam. Spa facilities are available on site, and guests can use the sun loungers and pool towels at no extra cost.

Location & Business

The hotel is located 1 km from Cardiff International Arena and within a 10-minute walk of Cardiff Central Rail Station and the city's shops and nightlife. For business travellers, the Novotel Cardiff Centre offers meeting rooms with fax/photocopying facilities and express check-in/check-out. Private parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is an electric vehicle charging station for guests driving electric cars.
